After reading reviews about this place in Hong Kong, I drop by for a quick lunch while at Central. The place is located in a narrow back alley (Tit Hong lane but there are no road signs), off jubilee street, between Des Voeux road and Queen's road.
The place was quite cramp, just a few tables and hardly any people who dine in, the place wasn't very clean. But their business was roaring from the phone takeaway orders by the locals. Takeaways are really cheap: HKD20 - 23 for a good set of mix veg rice. The staff were really friendly and could handle my lousy Cantonese.
If you dine in, it's more ex. But you get a free flow or their rice / bee hoon / noodles / soup. The soup is not the msg soup - but those cooked with beans and good nutritious stuff. And you get to order 2 side dishes (this is not free flow). All for just HKD 29. Really worth it.
The two dishes I got were Luo Han Zhai cooked in fermented bean curd gravy and fried seaweed "duck" (fried seaweed and beancurd skin). The taste was not fantastic, but still agreeable.
