Promoting vegetarianism

Was trying to help in the setting up of an exhibition on vegetarianism in my school and I learnt something about promoting and educating people on vegetarianism these few days: Different people require different approaches.

While some people are willing to watch videos on the horrors of the factory farms and learn the truth hidden from most of us, some others may immediately shun away from such videos because of the intense suffering scenes.

I was a little upset that the video of scenes of the factory farms cannot be shown in the exhibition, but I also learnt that we shouldn't push things onto others when they can't accept them at the moment. Doing so may result in their aversion towards vegetarians and becoming one themselves. We may have to approach these people using a softer approach, showing other sides in vegetarianism besides cold-blooded animal cruelty.
