Trapped wild boar dies

In today's local news, I saw a report on a wild boar who died from being trapped. This isn't the only animal cruelty case seen here. I have seen reports of strangled cats, and dogs thrown to death. Of late, we see more of such reports. It is really scary to think of what goes on in the minds of their torturers and what our world is turning into. What's more disturbing is the low fines for committing such acts. I was disappointed to see the the maximum fine of killing selective wild animals and birds capped at $1000. There shouldn't be a price tag on life, and if there is, $1000 is simply too low. If we understand the intricate relationship humans share with our environment and other species, I am sure the fine would not be so low.

Here's the news article (click to enlarge):

In Singapore, the animal rights movement is virtually non-existent, except for Acres whose main focus is on wildlife now.

Sadly animal cruelty is escalating in South Africa. One incident a man cut off his Husky puppy's head with a chain saw for attacking his parrot...he got a small fine for doing so. He was killed in a car crash a few weeks later...very few mourned for him...I certainly was glad he can now be judged by a Higher Power.

Instant karma! I wish it happened more often...

That's really vicious indeed, especially he can do it to his own puppy!

Good one Eda, I wish the fines were higher though...
