Badminton shuttlecocks

I played badminton with a couple of friends this morning. The shuttlecocks we used were non-vegan unfortunately (feathers). I really prefer the synthetic ones (plastic), but frankly speaking, they aren't so good for playing. In terms of durability, synthetic ones are of course better. If someone would invent affordable vegan shuttlecocks, that would be great!

In Sweden the plastic shuttlecock is used a lot more than the feather variety. The feather shuttlecocks are only used by "serious" athletes. The reason is mainly prize, but I don't think the feather version is that much better. High-quality plastic is much better than most people think, and it last much longer too. Unfortunately, Sweden isn't a good badminton country, so our authority in this world is zero.

I see. I guess that's because feather shuttlecocks are cheaper in Asia than in Europe that's why it's used more often here. I like the durability of nylon shuttlecocks and various properties, such as glow in the dark, which can be added to it.
