Previously, there's this news about Gordon Ramsay raising lambs to be slaughtered at his last TV episode. The deed's done finally (though none of these lambs made it to the final episode) as millions of viewers watch the slaughter process on TV. Terrible indeed it is for the lambs - yet one good thing that result from this slaughtering process is that Peta are getting calls for vegetarian starter kits. Obviously there will be people who don't feel comfortable seeing this, afterall compassion is in us. Needless to say the TV will try to rest assure everyone that this is humane etc. etc. but I guess for those people who's time is right, they will go veg. I hope more people will become and remain vegetarians after viewing this. I know several people who, after seeing videos of animals being slaughtered, went vegetarian or avoid the meat of that particular animal for some time, but eventually they gave in and started eating meat again. I really do not think Ramsay has not compassion at all for the lambs because he said "The last thing on my mind now is *censored* shepherd's pie.", maybe he has manage to hid it in some part of his conscience somehow.

It's sad, we have to witness something bad in order to realise that it's bad... :(
Yes, unfortunately... sometimes we need something to help us "wake up" to the reality.
Very true- many people's attitude is that "as long as I don't have to watch, I'll eat it" and our food comes to us in these nice, neat little packages that cannot tell the scary story of how they arrived at that grocery store.
Now, on the other hand, some people are 100% OK with eating and killing animals- i.e. hunters, and I say, if they have the stomache for it, then they are the true carnivores.
But the people who just buy those neat little packages, but don't want to know about the process are the ones who should perhaps consider being vegetarian!!!
Nice blog, BTW, you obvioously made me think!
Yes! Very good point Lizard princess. Those who buy pre-packaged pieces of meat should have the right to know where they came from.
*heartbreaking*
People just don't GET IT. i can not WAIT for the day when everyone does... i hope that day is soon, dreamy...
Zlyrica, if we don't witness something bad, how do we know it is bad? Buddha tells us to search for the answer not just to take the answer as it is.
It's an uphill task, but I hope everyone get it too! :)
Hmm... jn, a little too cheem for me hehe :)
