Please don't support biofuels

Some days ago I saw this report on our local newspaper. I always thought alternative sources of energy is good, but biofuels aren't.
Here we have people trying to cut down on meat intake and becoming vegetarians so people can have more food to eat. And there you see selfish people only trying to make their bursting pockets even fuller.

Everything is going up, up, up. A trip to the supermarket and I see many things becoming more expensive. All these extra money goes into those ever bursting pockets at the expense of other people's survival, at the expense of this planet and us.

Supporting biofuels will only mean clearing more rainforests to grow biofuel crops. How environmentally friendly is that? And think about all the effort took to grow crops... water, labour, etc. We put in so much cost and effort just to see the plant being used to power some silly metal on wheels. Crops also do not grow tomorrow when you plant them today. Too long a wait? GM the crop then. But if this is going to enter our food supply, I don't know what impact it will have on us.

Please do not support biofuels, it's a bane our fellow humans.

Supplies of non-renewable energy sources are running low and the threat of global warming. That contribute to part of the reason of high food price and standard of living.

Sourcing of alternative energy like solar power, water power, wind power, biomass, nuclear fission etc are been tried. However, all forms of energy production have some impacts on the environment. For e.g wind power - wind farm kills birds and bats! Nuclear, too dangerous!

Look at the current situation we are consuming so much energy everywhere and everything (the water used to flash toilet also used up energy!) which never happened in the past 50 to 100 years.

Using less energy is the most basic and effective way out. But can we human come so far and turn back to live a real simple lifestyle? Or can we able to find alternative energy that is practicable and inexpensive? Or could the machine do more work and use less energy?

Cheers crystal :)

It figures, someone has to take something potentially good and turn it into something nasty, just for a profit. Thanks for the info.

Yes, I believe certainly it can, there are ppl out there who know ways to do it but they are oppressed. Yea I agree about the wind energy, the animals just kill themselves :S sadly.

Jari, the link is broken, or expired?
